The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro have opened an investigation following the death of Anna Beatriz Pereira Alves, better known by her stage name Anna Polly.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred while she was filming content at a hotel in Nova Iguaçu, located in the Baixada Fluminense region of Rio de Janeiro.

Polly was reportedly working with two men at the time of the accident, which took place on January 23.

Her boyfriend, Pedro Henrique, assured the public that the police have gathered all the necessary details about the case, stating: “They are investigating. If someone is to blame, they will pay and the culprit will be found.”

At this stage, it remains unclear whether investigators have found any evidence suggesting foul play in Polly’s death.

In addition to their testimonies, police have interviewed hotel staff and are currently reviewing CCTV footage to determine what exactly happened in the moments leading up to Polly’s fall.

A spokesperson for the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Unit, speaking to The Sun, emphasized the seriousness of the case, stating:

“We are conducting a thorough investigation to clarify what happened. It’s a complex case, and we don’t rule out any possibility, from an accident to a possible crime.”

Beyond her public persona, she was also a mother to an eight-year-old son, according to Brazilian news source République.

Following her sudden passing, her boyfriend, Henrique, shared an emotional tribute on social media, writing:

“It’s so difficult without you. As the hours pass it’s starting to sink in and the hole in my heart is only getting bigger.”

A close friend, speaking to The Sun, revealed that Polly had been looking forward to many exciting plans for the future, including expanding her reach on social media.

Meanwhile, authorities have confirmed that an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of Polly’s death as they continue their investigation.
